Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy

Archival Infrastructure and Provider Archiving

The International Journal of Review in Mathematics Education (IJRiME) ensures the long-term preservation and integrity of its published content through a comprehensive digital archiving strategy. All published articles are systematically stored in a secure, local, state-of-the-art facility, maintaining both XML and PDF formats to ensure accessibility and interoperability. These archival formats are selected in accordance with prevailing scholarly communication standards.

Website Archiving

IJRiME’s digital infrastructure employs a tripartite storage system to safeguard its electronic content, including the journal website and all manuscript files. The primary server hosts live content accessible to readers, while two additional servers serve as backup repositories. In the event of technical failure, the journal is equipped to restore the full website functionality within 24 to 36 hours by activating one of the redundant servers, thus ensuring minimal disruption to access.

Self-Archiving Policy

In alignment with open-access principles, IJRiME actively supports author self-archiving practices. Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit the final, publisher-formatted version of their articles in personal digital storage (e.g., Google Drive) or institutional repositories immediately upon publication. Authors must provide complete bibliographic citation details to acknowledge the original appearance of the work in IJRiME, thereby maintaining scholarly attribution and traceability.

Abstracting, Indexing, and External Archiving

The journal collaborates with a range of abstracting and indexing databases that play a crucial role in enhancing the discoverability and preservation of its content. Notably, platforms such as Google Scholar not only index bibliographic metadata but also store the full electronic versions of the articles, thereby offering additional access points for the global research community. IJRiME further ensures visibility and reach through indexing in Google Scholar.

All published manuscripts are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through CrossRef, which guarantees persistent identification and citation linkage. The journal also participates in multiple international digital preservation initiatives and repositories to secure global and enduring access to its publications.

Metadata and Open Archives Compliance

IJRiME provides article metadata in accordance with the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), facilitating automated aggregation by third-party repositories. This interoperability fosters wide dissemination and contributes to the permanent scholarly record. The journal advocates for non-exclusive digital archiving and encourages inclusion in as many global archives as possible to ensure the secure, redundant, and perpetual availability of its published works in both HTML and PDF formats.
